The European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) recently released data showing that the European commercial vehicle market began to recover in March and achieved its first growth in the past two years.
In March, the number of commercial vehicle registrations in Europe was 186,469, an increase of 8.8% from the same period of last year, but it still fell by 27.3% compared with that before the outbreak of the financial crisis in March 2008. Among them, the number of light commercial vehicles registered increased while the number of heavy commercial vehicle registrations declined.
In March, the number of commercial vehicle registrations in all major European markets increased at different rates. Among them, the German market has increased by 15.4%, the French market has increased by 15.8%, the British market has increased by 16.2%, and the Spanish and Italian markets have increased by 25.3% and 29.2% respectively.
In the first three months of this year, the number of commercial vehicle registrations in Europe was 431,454, a decrease of 1.3% compared with the same period in 2009.
