China is an important transmission country for rice planting technology in Côte d'Ivoire

According to statistics, in the “Guge Du Fu District†160 kilometers away from Abidjan, after more than 20 years of agricultural technology cooperation between the two countries, the rice production per hectare in the area has increased significantly, and the direct income of rice farmers has increased significantly.
After six months of professional training in rice breeding and cultivation, field management, harvesting and processing, six Chinese rice experts from the country of Côte d'Ivoire officially closed in the economic capital of Abidjan on the 28th.
The Director of the Rice Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Côte d'Ivoire, Jacob B. Dembele, attended the closing ceremony. In his speech, he thanked the Chinese government for its selfless help in technology, machinery, organization, capital, manpower, etc., saying that “the agricultural and technical cooperation in the branch is responsible for the demonstration of rice planting in Côte d'Ivoire. China is self-sufficient for rice and ensuring food for the family. Safety has made an outstanding contribution."
China’s Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire Tang Weibin said that this is the second time that China has held a training course on rice technology in Côte d’Ivoire. The Chinese government has always attached importance to human resources cooperation with African fraternal countries under the framework of South-South cooperation. Since 2013, more than 800 people from Côte d'Ivoire have participated in various trainings organized by the Chinese government, covering infrastructure construction and planning, public health, education, agriculture, and economics.
Fofana Vasulamana, a student from the western province of Séguéla, said at the closing ceremony: "We have learned practical and innovative agricultural technology knowledge from Chinese experts. In the future, we will apply what we have learned to improve rice production. Capacity to increase food production."
From June to July 2016, the first Côte d'Ivoire rice technology overseas training course taught by Chinese agricultural experts was successfully held in the department, and representatives from 30 rice planting countries from the country participated in the training.
