At the "Capital Air Pollution Control Symposium" held yesterday, Yang Tiesheng, deputy director of the Department of Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that according to the latest survey statistics, in the local PM2.5 pollution in Beijing, the impact of motor vehicles is the largest, reaching about 31%. Among them, the ratio of pollutants discharged by local motor vehicles bearing the "Beijing" license is about 2:1. That is to say, one-third of the motor vehicle exhaust pollution in Beijing's pavement is currently from transit vehicles in the field.

Among the local PM2.5 pollution in Beijing, motor vehicles, coal combustion, industrial production and dust are the main sources. Motor vehicles accounted for 31.1%, coal combustion accounted for 22.4%, industrial production accounted for 18.1%, dust accounted for 14.3%, and other emissions such as catering, automobile repair, livestock and poultry farming, construction coating accounted for about 14.1%. The “contribution” of motor vehicles to PM2.5 is comprehensive, including both direct emission of PM2.5 and its gaseous precursors, as well as indirect discharge of road traffic dust.
