More than a month ago, Ye Chi-sheng fainted at the drought-resistant scene and was taken to the hospital. The doctor made a diagnosis of "liver cancer and advanced gastric cancer."

In the face of severe drought, Ye Chih-sen gave up hospital treatment. He leaned back and forth at home, and his legs were swollen. He had fought for 48 days and a night in front of the drought. Nowadays, the drought has finally been lifted. The old leaf is ready to go to Wuhan to treat the disease with his family.

Zhan Wangmin, secretary of the district party committee who came here to see him, said that in the 60-year drought, the drought in Dujialin Village was serious in Chenze Louzhen, and 1,752 acres of paddy fields, 500 acres of dry land, and 430 acres of fish ponds were affected to varying degrees.

Drought resistance requires water. However, due to disrepair, the only two pumping stations in Dujialin Village, Xingfu Reservoir Pump Station and Xiaobo Pump Station, have been unable to operate normally.

This extremely common phenomenon in the countryside has become a stone that is pressed against Ye Chisheng’s heart.

He said to the daughter who advised him to stay in hospital: "I have been a village party secretary for so many years, and I have not built the village well. I have no confidence in everyone's trust. Now, if the drought is no longer tolerated, how do you let me face the villagers in the future? With a large package of drugs, Ye Chi-sheng resolutely returned to Du Jialin.

From May 11 to 12, Ye Chi Sang endured the pain and repeatedly went to and from Huangzhou to raise funds for the drought in the village. On the evening of the 12th, with funds for fighting the drought, Ye Chisheng stumbled back home, his eyes darkened, and he fell to his bed and fainted. When the village officials heard the news, they were sent to the hospital. Ye Chi-sheng said, "You don't have to persuade me. I know I don't have much time. I have to do more for the folks in a limited time."

After a rest night, the next day, Ye Chi-Sheng set off again. He led village officials to Huangzhou to purchase water pumps and spare parts.

After the equipment was bought back, Ye Chisheng let people take care of himself on the construction site. On May 18, the Xiaobo Pumping Station watered out; on May 20, the Happy Pumping Station pumped water... The village’s 2,000 mu of cultivated land had all been effectively irrigated.

Ye Chi-Sheng did not stop there. On May 26, when he went to the neighboring Gulougang Village to discuss “drainage by water,” he collapsed on the way again.

According to village officials, since June, with the intensification of illness, Ye Chisheng has been very difficult to get up. However, he still pays constant attention to the drought in the village. He often calls the village cadres to the home to understand the situation, arrange the current key tasks, and keep the work in the village running as usual.
