The number, length and diameter of these tubes determine the total heating surface and , consequently, the heating capacity of the dryer.
The tube bundle is heated with steam. It works on the basis of a reverse flow (steam flow versus product flow). The product to be heated gets in contact with the steam-heated tubes only, not with the heating agent steam itself (mere contact drying).
