At the end of August 2009, China FAW Group Corporation and General Motors Corporation jointly established FAW-GM Light Commercial Vehicles Co., Ltd., and FAW Harbin Light Co., Ltd. became a subsidiary of the joint venture company. In that year, the entire relocation and transformation project of FAW Harbin Light Industry Co., Ltd. started construction of a 100,000 light truck project of FAW Harbin. The total investment of the project is 1.423 billion yuan, and an annual output of 100,000 light trucks can be achieved after the first phase of production.
