Dandong Baxter and South China Normal University Successfully Developed China's First Potential Analyzer
[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On June 5, 2017, in the Dandong Baxter R&D Center's laboratory, a model of the nano-particle Zeta potential analyzer, the BT-Zeta100, was modeled on the test bed in an orderly manner. The engineer conducted a secondary Zeta potential test. As the test progressed, the results of a group of Zeta potentials showed good repeatability and accuracy, indicating that this Zeta potential analyzer had a decent performance for the first time. Announced the successful development of the first domestic Zeta potential analyzer.
The successful development of the first domestic Zeta potential analyzer is the latest achievement of the cooperation between Dandong Baxter and South China Normal University. As early as August 2014, Dandong Baxter signed an agreement with South China Normal University to jointly develop a Zeta potential analyzer and set up a project team. In the past two years, the Zeta potential project team of South China Normal University, led by Prof. Han Peng, has done a lot of research work in terms of test principles, optical systems, and signal analysis and processing. The Baxter Zeta potential project team headed by Li Xiaoguang actively explored the technical route, control system, instrument structure, and software design. The two parties closely contacted each other and exchanged regular visits to integrate the latest research results into the prototype system. After more than two years of joint research, it has overcome a series of technical problems such as electroosmotic effect, uneven electric field distribution, real-time related signal processing, and polarity judgment, and finally developed the first domestic Zeta potential analyzer with commercial prospects. After a comparative test with a variety of similar foreign instruments, the prototype reached the advanced level of similar foreign products in terms of repeatability, accuracy, and resolution, and the project achieved a complete success.
The Zeta potential analyzer BT-Zeta100 is based on the principle of electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) to measure the Zeta potential of nanoparticulate materials. It not only measures the Zeta potential of nanoparticles, but also has the function of measuring the size distribution and molecular weight of nanoparticles. It is a set of particle size, The high-end nanoparticle analysis instrument integrating molecular weight and Zeta Electric can fully satisfy the analysis of the main physical properties of nanomaterials, and at the same time meet a number of ISO international standards.
BT-Zeta100 adopts independent innovative microfluidic technology and adaptive photon correlation technology to ensure the high measurement accuracy and wide measurement range of the instrument, and applied for a number of invention patents. In addition, the instrument's core technologies include small light source components, Zeta potential sample cells with unique structures, high-sensitivity photodetection modules, high-precision temperature control systems, and optical space modulation modules. BT-Zeta100 is a product with completely independent intellectual property rights. Its successful development has ended the history of China's nanoparticle Zeta potential analyzer fully relying on imports, providing scientifically accurate, economical and practical test methods for the research, production and application of nanomaterials in China. It is of great significance to promote the development of nanotechnology in China.
