These bearings are made of steel and are dust and corrosion resistant, while providing maximum system rigidity in the most challenging applications including vacuum, ozone, low radiation and even high temperatures up to 315 degrees Celsius. When used in conjunction with the Thomson 60 Case stainless steel shafting, the shaft has a longer life than conventional shafting. Most sizes of A-type bearings can be delivered on the same day or the next day. Thomson Type A stainless steel ball bushing bearings have a steady-state operating speed of up to 3 m/s and an acceleration of up to 150 m/s2 without the need to reduce the rating. These factors require the installation of larger, more expensive bearings to achieve the same level of performance as smaller Thomson stainless steel multi-ball bearing bush bearings. Type A bearings have a coefficient of friction of only 0.001, allowing equipment manufacturers to use smaller, less expensive motors, belts, gears and ball screws when replacing high-friction plain bearings. Thomson Type A stainless steel ball bushing bearings are available in 1/4 in., 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 5/8 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. six standard sizes, including Adjustable bearings, closed bearings and open bearings. The specifications of these bearings are standard in the industry and can be directly changed to competitive old applications. Two levels of accuracy immediately improve the positioning and repeatability of the system, while the self-aligning pillow housing is easier to install and use. When combined with the Thomson 60 Case shafting, Type A bearings will have longer life and higher load capacity than conventional linear bearings, allowing users to use smaller components to reduce space requirements and system cost.
