The “Technology for Coal to Ethylene Glycolâ€, a key project of the National Science and Technology Support Program led by the Fujian Institute of Materials Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was accepted by experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology in Beijing last week. The project has developed a large-scale preparation technology for series catalysts for coal-to-ethylene glycol, formed a 300-ton/year catalyst production capacity, provided guarantee for the 200,000-ton coal-based glycol industry demonstration, and successfully developed a new generation of coal.
