The high-energy high-power electron irradiation accelerator device is mainly composed of an electron gun, an accelerating tube, a microwave transmission system, a modulator system, a mechanical support system, a vacuum system, an electron beam focusing system, a control system, a constant temperature water cooling system, and a beam scanning system. After more than two years of hard work, the R&D personnel of the China Institute of Atomic Energy have solved key technologies such as high-power, high-repetition-frequency long-pulse high-voltage technology and high-power microwave stable transmission and monitoring. After testing, its main performance and indicators are at the domestic leading level, reaching the international advanced level. Authorities pointed out that the completion of the high-energy and high-power demonstration project has enabled China to provide the complete set of high-energy electron irradiation accelerator equipment, which has significantly improved the manufacturing technology and industrialization level of China's electron irradiation accelerator.
China's first high-energy high-power electron irradiation accelerator built
At present, China's highest energy and highest power electron irradiation accelerator - 10MeV / 15kW (million electron volts 15 kW) electron accelerator irradiation demonstration project, officially passed the acceptance on December 18. The device system has been independently designed and developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy and will be put into use soon.
